On the 20th and 21st of April, college students and tech enthusiasts across Gujarat gathered at Nirma University for the annual HackNUthon, a 36-hour hackathon where innovation and problem-solving took center stage. It was organized by the Computer Society of India (CSI), student branch, Institute of Technology in association with CSE department, Nirma University. HackNUThon witnessed 700 participants, ranging from hackathon veterans to budding newbies.
The Centre of Excellence in Data Science established at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering organised an online national level Hackathon (MINeD) during February 29, 2024- March 2, 2024 in collaboration with SUNY Binghamton University, USA.
Demonstration of Cyber First Responder Kit for the faculty members in the field of Cyber Security was done on September 30, 2023.
Seed Ball Making Workshop was arranged by ACES club on August 4, 2023 where volunteers from Sukrut Trust demonstrated the process of making seed balls and its benefit to the environment.

CodeAdda Club organised CodeAdda SHA Rounds as a part of competitive programming practice contest series every week during July, 2023 – October 2023 to boost the coding environment for CSE Students.
Computer Society of India organised Codigo Contest, every weekend to encourage students in problem solving activities and coding during Odd Term, 2023

National Mathematics Day was celebrated by organizing Math Quiz on 22.12.2022 for faculty members of the department by the Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES) club.
A quiz competition “Hour of Code” was conducted on 06.12.2022 by the ACM club where participants were given problems based on CTFs (Capture The Flag). The main objective was to give an opening to cybersecurity field.
A webinar on “Career Talk show” was arranged on 03.12.2022 to provide the awareness to pre-final year students about their career goals. In this series, the first talk was given by Mr Ahisheksingh Gautam on “Career in MBA after B.Tech.” and second talk was addressed by Mr Ayush Shah on “Roadmap to App Development”.
The Association of MCA Students (AMS) conducted a quiz on 06.10.2022 by LogicXamify with a motive of improving coding skills among students to make them industry ready as potential candidate for company recruitment.
Dr Madhuri Bhavsar (HoD, CSE) welcomed first year students to the department during B.Tech. First year orientation with her motivational words and gave overview of the department along with ACES board members. Students were given highlights of the department through “Know Your Department” event.
During the first-year orientation, a Treasure Hunt event was organized on 27.9.2022 for the newly admitted BTech first year students by the Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES) club. The participants were given hints leading them to a location on campus and further. Different teams were set up and a series of locations was developed for each group respectively. Each group will go to the location where the volunteer will give the next clue and in the end the participants will reach where they started. Total 120 participants joined the event.
Youth Day online event was organized by the Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES) club on 12.08.2022. Mr Shivam Patel, Software Engineer-Machine Learning, Google delivered talk on “Computer Science, Youth and future scope in Computer Science from research perspective”. Mr. Piyush Bhan, Senior Vice President, International Business, Salucro Health Care Solutions delivered talk on “Technology and Youth”. Total 30 participants attended this event.
The members of ACM Student organised and event on 11th January 2021, which was an interactive talk series with one of the alumni SHIVAM PATEL, who is a graduate student from Carnegie Mellon University and a former undergraduate student of Nirma University 2020.
The members of ACES organised a session on “Project Presentation”, on January 17, 2019 for the semester IV students of the Department. The projects of semester VI students were show cased in this session.
ACES conducted a two hour session on “Mathematics of Machine Learning” on March 7, 2019 for the students of the Department.
“ML Run”, conducted during NUTECH 2019, was an event where the participants were given a dataset pertaining to a problem. The one who trained the model and got a prediction on an unknown input won the contest.
CodeAdda frequently organises various coding activities based on Algorithms and Data Structures, competitive programming and open source development to enhance the coding ability of budding professionals.
All the associations conduct diverse activities such as CodeRun, CodZilla, Jigsaw Puzzle, Bit Code, Google Blogger Workshop and various coding competitions. More than 100 participants enthusiastically participate in this event.
