UG student presenting research work at 55th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference (LPSC), Houston, Texas

The 55th edition of the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference (LPSC) a longstanding tradition since 1970 to be held in Houston, Texas, United States of America from March 11 – 15, 2024 will be attended by Mr Kanav Avasthi (20BCE023), a UG student of Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Institute of Technology, Nirma University for presenting his research on “Implementation of Cascading Total Variation Denoising (C-TVD) on Chandrayaan-II (CH2) IIRS Lunar Hyperspectral Data”.

This research work is one of the outputs of ISRO-HQ funded research project titled “Automatic Detection and Analysis of Lunar Surface Mineralogy Using Deep Learning Techniques” with Dr Sudeep Tanwar (PI) and Dr Tarjni Vyas, Prof. Shivani Desai, Prof. Anuja Nair (Co-PIs). This prestigious conference, attended by scientists from NASA, the Russian Space Agency, Japanese Space Agency, European Space Agencies, and more, promises a valuable experience. Moreover, Mr Kanav Avasthi received a partial amount of funding from Nirma University to attend the prestigious conference.
