Dr Stephen Brewster, ACM Distinguished Speaker and Professor of Human-Computer Interaction in the School of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow has visited the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Institute of Technology to deliver a lecture series on Multimodal Human Computer Interfaces under the ACM distinguished speaker’s programme from March 5-7, 2020. The lecture series was organised by ACM Student Chapter of Nirma University and Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Institute of Technology. Dr. Brewster has delivered lectures on various topics like Multimodal Human Computer Interfaces, Haptics, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality Applications, New Interfaces for car.
ACM student chapter on campus was inaugurated by Dr Stephen Brewster on March 5th, 2020. On this occasion, Dr Alka Mahajan, Director Institute of Technology had presided over the function. Dr Madhuri Bhavsar, HoD and Dr Saurin Parikh, faculty Advisor of ACM student chapter along with student team led by Mohil patel had welcomed all the participants to the event.
During the visit, Dr Brewster had interactions with Dr Anup Singh, Director General, Nirma university, Director of Institute of Technology and various Head of Departments. The focus of the interactions was to strengthen the collaboration between the Institutions.
The Faculty members of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering also had research interactions in the field of HCI and AR/VR with Dr Brewster.
