Prof Sang Won Yoon from Binghamton University, New York, USA visited Nirma University campus during November 11 – 15, 2019. His visit was planned under Faculty Exchange activity under MoU between Nirma University and Binghamton University with a primary objective of teaching various techniques for Mathematical Modelling and optimization techniques to students of M Tech (Computer Science Engineering), and their real-life application in live projects. This visit enabled the students to experience international teaching methodology with several research problems and approaches to handle them using elements of Optimization techniques.
Prof. Yoon covered a few modules of Applied Mathematics for Computer Science course to M Tech Semester I (CSE). The topics he covered are part of the syllabus and will be included in the examination for the assessment. There were interactive sessions with other students of B Tech CSE and MCA. Prof. Yoon also discussed his industry projects and interdisciplinary work with the faculty members of the institute. He also interacted with the Center of Excellence (CoE) in Data Science team of faculty members of CSE Department.
