Computing Environment

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has well equipped laboratories having a total of 725 high end machines for postgraduate and undergraduate students.  All these machines are connected via a fiber-optic cable network to provide high speed LAN as well as wireless connectivity. A 1.2 Gbps (w.e.f. 01/07/2020) dedicated optic fiber leased line and Wi-Fi hotspots enable round the clock Internet connectivity on the campus.

The Department is committed to long-term research in frontier areas like Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, High Performance Computing, Cloud Computing, IoT, Networking and Cyber security etc. In addition to basic computing facilities, the department has established advanced laboratories housing high end workstations, NVIDIA Volta and Pascal GPU systems, CISCO networking equipment, IoT devices and specialised software for cyber forensics.

The Department has active collaboration with the Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), ISRO, DST, DAE and software industries like NVIDIA, Infosys etc. to create opportunities for active academic and research environment.
