Activities

The Department takes pride in the alumni making their mark in top notch MNCs across the globe, like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, to name a few. They are involved in the development activities of the Department through their participation as members on the Board of Studies, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and various other committees.

They are also involved in mentoring their juniors, guiding them about the current practices and expectations of the industry, higher studies opportunities, expectations of recruiters and the like. The Department arranges alumni expert talks on various state of the art technologies and seeks their assistance in strengthening internships and placements.

Chief Guest of Alumni Mr. Bhupendra Tripathi (IT Alumnus) on account of Foundation day celebration on 05/10/2022

On account of 28th Foundation Day Celebration of the Institute of Technology, Organization of Civil Engineering Students (OrCES), Civil Engineering Department and NSS Unit SOE in association with Blind People’s Association, Vastrapur had organized “Diyang Talent Performance and Tribute”. It was conducted in the C Auditorium. Shri Bhupendra Tripathi (Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Ahmedabad) and Alumni from Information and technology Department was our chief guest. We had invited people from Blind People’s Association, Vastrapur and children from Miroli village to be a part of the celebration.

Expert talk was conducted on the topic of “Exploring Career Paths”

An expert talk was conducted on the topic of “Exploring Career Paths” by our alumnus Ms. Kinjal Rathod for the students of MTech (1st Sem CSE all) and MCA (1st Semester) on 15/10/2022. Ms. Kinjal pursued her master’s degree in Information and Network Security from Nirma University. Currently, she is working as Software Development Engineer 2 at Paytm. She also contributed to our Indian Government in finding vulnerabilities in Arogya Setu App in 2020 and received an award for the same. Before joining Paytm, she worked as a Software Development Engineer at Oracle India, Bangalore. She delivered a talk on various career options after master’s degree.

Session for first year students ‘#include<Roadmap.h>

Computer society of India,Student Branch, CSE Dept, Nirma University have organized a session for first year students ‘#include<Roadmap.h> on 18 November 2022 between 4:00pm-6:00pm in C Audi.The session was conducted by notable alumni of our esteemed college,former csi president and current product manager at ebay Mr Alark Patel (08BCE047). The session proved to be very beneficial for all the students.He talked about the current trends in technology and the emerging fields and what all skills need to be developed to ace job interviews.The speaker emphasized on importance of academics and extra project work that needs to be done throughout the curriculum to get a deeper understanding of all the core subjects.He shared his experience of his bachelor’s degree and do’s and don’ts as a first year student.He also shared a detailed roadmap for first year students the technologies and domains that needs to be explored and how they need to prepare themselves to stand out in the real world.

Mr Vimal Savalia (98CE018) is the founder of the company Tech Holding located at Ahmedabad, Pune and USA. He has taken 4 interns from our current CSE 7th Semester students for their major project commencing from Jan 2023.Mr Rahul Shah, founder of IOLITE has taken 4 interns from our current semester 7 students for their major project commencing from Jan 2023.Jay Majethia (10BIT008) has taken 2 interns from our student list during their summer internship to his company ITILITE and it has extended to their Minor project of semester 7 (Btech CSE).

Industrial Visit for students

Mr Samir Motwani , and Mr Dipesh Patel founders of Rapidops, has organized an industrial visit for our students of semester 3, 5 and 7 at their company.

Alumni visited and given helpful suggestions for projects at Incubation Centre

Mihir Mavalankar (14BCE064) visits Nirma University whenever he comes to Ahmedabad. This time he met our current students who are pursuing their projects at our Incubation Centre in coordination with Ms. Rashmika Shah. The suggestions given by Mihir was very helpful and shown a new way to enhance the project.

Organized one fireside chat

We have organized one fireside chat with Dhruvil Sanghvi (06BCE086), the founder of LogiNext Solution moderated by Samir Motwani (Cofounder of RapidOps solutions). The session was very endearing. It covered with how to pitch ideas, how to raise funds, equirements for establishing a new startup and much more.

Tanay Shah (05BCE109) has joined the event Fireside chat with Dhruvil Sanghvi , specially from Baroda and guided students about the internships, how to apply, where to apply, how to build own profile etc.

An expert talk by Jeel Vaishnav is organised by the club code adda

Jeel Vaishnav shared his journey and his views on competitive programming. He shared ups and downs of his CP journey. He suggested the resources to follow and solved queries of students related to Competitive Programming. He also mentioned how important CP is for placements and even after placements. He also guided and solved queries of students regarding pursuing masters in computer science.

Expert talk on the topic of “Entrepreneurship”

An expert talk was conducted on the topic of “Entrepreneurship” by our alumnus Mr Mantraraj for the students of CSE on October 20, 2022. Mantraraj is our Computer Engineering, ITNU Alumnus from the 2014-18 batch, and then He went on to pursue his MBA from IIM Indore. During his MBA, he worked in the MD’s office in the corporate strategy department for a leading media company and consulted the processed agri product division of an FMCG company. Post this; he joined a leading SaaS startup to work in their Product Management division. Before he joined his current position at Turbostart, he had a short stint with a management consulting firm where he worked with the Indian subsidiary of the USA-based healthcare client. In his current capacity as a venture capitalist, he is responsible for investments made in FinTech, EdTech and SaaS space. He works with the portfolio companies very closely to improve their KPI matrix, which in effect, drives the valuation. In his talk he covered topics like Startup ecosystem and overview, What is required to start a start up, How to start up, Raising Money, What VCs look for while handing the cheque, The mistakes founders made, How to choose your VC and importance of initial employees/core team.

Mr. Jitendra Gadhvi, Director Career Services & Internships at MIT World Peace University, Pune, delivered an expert talk on the topic of “Hacking the placement code: How to crack placements on campus” for the students of MCA Sem-III and MTech Sem-I on 2nd September 2022 (Friday).
