On the 20th and 21st of April, college students and tech enthusiasts across Gujarat gathered at Nirma University for the annual HackNUthon, a 36-hour hackathon where innovation and problem-solving took center stage. It was organized by the Computer Society of India (CSI), student branch, Institute of Technology in association with CSE department, Nirma University.
HackNUthon provided a platform for the participants to showcase their technical and creative skills, taking the help of the various technologies to create innovative solutions. Over 700 participants, ranging from hackathon veterans to budding newbies formed teams and explored the challenges presented by leading companies. The atmosphere was exciting as teams burned the midnight oil, motivated to develop cutting-edge applications.
From creating an AI-driven SQL Query Builder to an AI-based Virtual HR manager, participants explored various problem statements, showcasing their technical and creative skills to gain hands-on experience required for the commercial world. Amidst intense competition, Team Infive 4.0 clinched the grand prize of 25 thousand rupees for their Virtual Reality-based creation. Team Formality secured second place with their innovative AI-driven educational solution, while Team Anokhas claimed third with their Travel Sathi app, promising hassle-free travel experiences. The participation of a group of 12th-grade students(Team Zippers), added a heartwarming touch to the event, highlighting the inclusive nature of the hackathon and the passion for technology among the younger generation.
Beyond the thrill of competition, HackNUthon ensured an environment of learning and teamwork. Participants had several opportunities to connect with industry professionals, creating lasting relationships within the tech community. With each team pushing the boundaries of innovation, HackNUthon showcased Gujarat’s vibrant tech ecosystem and the spirit of innovation and creativity that defines CSI ITNU’s flagship event.
